We live in a very individualistic world, where the concept of the person, the individual and individuality, has taken on a meaning far beyond the specific meaning of the word itself. It has become a philosophy, a way of life, called individualism, which is based on a specific value system: the freedom of the individual person to pursue happiness by pursuing the fulfillment of individual desires and preferences. McDonald's?? Of course! Because if the Americans are not building five star hotels, Disney Lands and malls, what have they been building, for several years now? Did they not come in solely to remove the tyrant? To rid the world of the threat of non-existing WMDs in the hands of a madman? What is it they are building? Even the labour is imported, Iraqis are so excluded. Could it be they are building the largest US embassy in the world?? The only signs of construction in our ruined city. Our buildings are in ruins, our electricity nonexsistent, our sewage system flowing backwards, our drinking water would poison any but us - we have developed an immunity....

I'm starting my vacation today, so blogging will be intermittent and dependent upon internet access until the 24th. If I can, I'll try to post some pictures at the very least.
